ROLE PURPOSE

The Director of Discipleship & Training owns the discipleship function of the ministry, ensuring that discipleship remains at the heart of youth ministry.

The Director develops and maintains the continent-wide discipleship curriculum, oversees leader-training programmes, and establishes pathways into the School of Disciples (SOD), Bible College, and other formal discipleship routes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain the continental discipleship strategy.
• Develop and steward the ministry’s discipleship curriculum.
• Establish standards for effective discipleship across youth churches, arms, and fellowships. • Oversee leadership and discipleship training programmes.
• Develop pathways into SOD, Bible College, and other discipleship programmes.
• Ensure discipleship resources are accessible and relevant.
• Monitor discipleship implementation across regions.
• Identify gaps in discipleship provision and develop appropriate solutions.
• Equip local leaders to disciple young people effectively.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of discipleship initiatives.

LEADERSHIP & PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITY
• Build and lead discipleship and training teams.
• Develop trainers, mentors, and discipleship leaders.
• Establish leadership development pathways.
• Encourage a culture of lifelong spiritual growth.

ACCOUNTABILITY
The Director is accountable for the quality, accessibility, consistency, and effectiveness of discipleship across the continent.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
• Implementation of the discipleship curriculum.
• Participation and completion of training programmes.
• SOD/Bible College pathway engagement.
• Development of discipleship leaders.
• Evidence of effective discipleship across local churches and fellowships.

LEADERSHIP EXPECTATIONS
The Director should demonstrate spiritual maturity, teaching ability, strategic thinking, strong leadership-development skills, and a deep commitment to raising disciples and leaders.
