ROLE PURPOSE

The Director of Welfare & Integration owns the continental standards and systems designed to ensure that no young person falls through the cracks.

The role covers both welfare and integration, ensuring that young people receive appropriate support during periods of need and that new members are effectively welcomed, followed up, and connected into the life of the ministry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop continental welfare standards and systems.
• Oversee the counselling network.
• Develop crisis-response protocols.
• Coordinate mental-health support resources.
• Develop frameworks for addressing accommodation and housing crises.
• Coordinate emergency-aid processes with Finance.
• Establish standards for welcoming and following up new members.
• Develop systems for connecting new members with local Youth Pastors and Arm Leaders. • Establish consistent integration and follow-up frameworks.
• Work with pastors and partners to implement Continental Safeguarding Lead standards.
• Monitor welfare and integration outcomes across regions.

LEADERSHIP & PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITY
• Lead and develop welfare and integration teams.
• Establish appropriate training and support for those working with vulnerable young people.
• Develop regional welfare and integration capacity.
• Promote a culture of care, safety, belonging, and accountability.

ACCOUNTABILITY
The Director is accountable for the effectiveness of the ministry’s welfare and integration systems and works closely with relevant safeguarding, pastoral, and financial leadership.

The Director must demonstrate compassion, maturity, confidentiality, sound judgement, safeguarding awareness, strong boundaries, and the ability to handle sensitive situations responsibly.
