ROLE PURPOSE

The Director of Governance & Legal owns governance, legal, and compliance work across RCCG Youth Continent 9. The Director ensures that the ministry operates within appropriate legal, regulatory, contractual, and governance frameworks across all relevant jurisdictions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee continental governance and compliance frameworks.
• Provide oversight of GDPR and data-protection requirements.
• Review and coordinate contracts, including venue, supplier, and partnership agreements. • Oversee insurance requirements.
• Support compliance relating to employment law for stipended roles.
• Protect the ministry’s intellectual property and brand assets.
• Maintain and review constitutional and governance documents.
• Identify and manage legal and compliance risks.
• Liaise with external legal counsel when required.
• Ensure appropriate documentation and governance records are maintained.
• Support leaders in understanding and complying with relevant policies and legal requirements

• Lead and develop welfare and integration teams.
• Lead governance and compliance personnel.
• Develop a culture of legal awareness and accountability.
• Equip Directors and regional leaders with appropriate governance guidance.
• Establish systems that enable consistent compliance across jurisdictions

ACCOUNTABILITY
The Director is accountable for the ministry’s governance and legal framework and escalates significant legal matters to the SLT and external counsel as appropriate.
